Team Coco House Tour starts this weekend!

The Team Coco House 10 city tour kicks off this weekend!

The Team Coco House is one of our favorite parts of SDCC and we are so excited to see this as a tour for an entire weekend.

My hometown of Salt Lake City is getting an incredible weekend with one of my favorite comics and former Team Coco writer, Deon Cole. Make sure all of you Utah listeners get over to WiseGuys Comedy this weekend and support Deon and Team Coco.

For everybody here in Los Angeles, we have an INSANE lineup all weekend at The Improv on Melrose. There are still a few tickets left, but most shows are already sold out. Check out the lineup and see what tickets are still available.

Make sure to get tickets for the Team Coco house if you're one of the 10 lucky cities. Ticket link below.

See you this weekend, Team Coco House!

Episode 170 - David Charles Returns!

LISTEN TO THE EPISODE ON APPLE PODCASTS HERE

[NSFW WARNING: EXPLICIT LANGUAGE]

On today's episode I have one of my longtime friends, musician David Charles back on the podcast!

Dave playing guitar with Neon Trees

Dave was previously on the podcast on Episode 1! When I was trying to decide if I should start a podcast, I knew Dave would be the perfect person to talk to as he had been touring with Neon Trees as their tour guitarist and we had a history in music together. All these years later Dave is finally back on the show. Even though we just live a few streets away from each other, we rarely get to catch up and usually only run into each other at comedy shows or when I see Dave waiting to cross the street (listen to the episode for context).

Tim and Dave after the episode

Dave and I talked about what we've been up to, the awkward social pressure of having adult friends, the people we see around our neighborhood, Dave's plain clothes, the word "thrums", The Simpsons, Norm MacDonald impressions, and a lot of other nonsense.

A huge Thanks to Dave for coming by and hanging out on the podcast. Make sure you follow Dave on all of the links below, download his solo albums, and look for him on tour with Neon Trees!

Thanks, Dave!

Enjoy the episode.

Episode 169 - Let's Do Some Good

LISTEN TO THE EPISODE ON APPLE PODCASTS HERE

[NSFW WARNING: EXPLICIT LANGUAGE]

Today's episode of the podcast is another solo episode! This week wasn't planned to be a solo episode, but after a few guests had to reschedule this week, I decided to improvise.

As I mentioned in the first solo episode, one of my biggest issues when I started the podcast years ago was a lack of consistency. This was something I wanted to change and vowed I would. So in the wake of my frustration of not having a guest, I decided to take a deep breath and not let it ruin my week.

If you listen to The Good Place: The Podcast, at the end of every episode Mark Evan Jackson asks each guest "What's Good?". The guest can answer anything here that brings them joy. It could be a charity, their family, ice cream, really anything that brings them joy. As I sat here frustrated I found me asking myself, "What's Good?". This inspired me to record an episode to talk about how all of us can try and do better and do good.

Listen to The Good Place: The Podcast

There's so many terrible things going on the world. While putting our head in the sand and pretending like they don't exist isn't the answer, what we can do is try and do good for ourselves, for our neighbors, and for our community.

A Purposeful Rescue is an animal rescue that I love and support

The Kitten Lady is another great animal rescuer to follow and support online

I talked about my own personal goals to get better and evolve as a human, some of the charities that I support and love, methods I use to put my head in a better place, self care, great pages I follow, and just how to be a better person.

A great book from Lin-Manuel Miranda to check out

This feels like some crazy Tony Robbins bullshit, but it's not. This was just what was on my mind this week was how we can get over the let downs life hands us and to just get better and do good.

I hope this episode is something that can make you simple and inspire you to do some good.

Let's all keep getting better.

Go do some good.

Green Day releases new single, announces new album, and 2020 tour

Green Day made a surprise appearance on the Kevin and Bean show on KROQ this morning to release their new single "Father of All...", new album, as well as announce their 2020 Hella Mega Tour!

Green Day will be supported by Fall Out Boy, Weezer, and The Interrupters! This tour announcement brings so much joy to my black little punk rock heart. Green Day's new album is expected February of 2020 and is available for Pre-Order now!

On top of Green Day's new single release, both Fall Out Boy and Weezer released new singles as well! To celebrate the tour announcement, all three bands decided to surprise Los Angeles with a show at the Whisky-A-Go-Go tonight! Tickets went fast, but it will be quite the show in such a small venue.

I'll be attending the San Diego date of the tour, but it you're planning on traveling to see this tour, let me discourage you against San Digeo as it falls during San Diego Comic-Con. I would be attending the Los Angeles date, but since I'll already be in San Diego for SDCC, that will be my date.

We absolutely cannot wait for this tour and can't wait to see these four bands together.
See you in the pit!

Halloween Time Kicks Off At Disneyland!

As summer winds down and the kids go back to school, that can only mean one thing, Halloween Time is upon us! If you're a big fan of Halloween as you know we are here at On the Mic, then you know that Disneyland is the place to be for Halloween!

The Halloween Time festivities at the park officially kicked off on Friday September 6th and run through October 31st. There are so many fun things to see and do during this special time at the park. Some of my favorite features are the giant Mickey pumpkin as you enter the gates to main street, Oogie Boogie's welcoming you to California Adventure, and of course the giant Jack Skellington the welcomes you to the Haunted Mansion. Anybody who listens to the show knows how much we love Jack Skellington here.

There are so many great festivities going on throughout the park for everybody, not to mention some incredible special merchandise for this time of year.

We are incredibly excited to be heading back down to Disneyland in a couple of weeks to enjoy all of the Halloween Time festivities. Make sure to follow us on Instagram for live updates. What are you excited to see at the park?

Check out Attractions Magazine's preview of Halloween Time at Disneyland in the video below!

See you at the park!

Episode 168 - D23 and Long Beach Comic Con

LISTEN TO THE EPISODE ON APPLE PODCASTS HERE

[NSFW WARNING: EXPLICIT LANGUAGE]

On today's episode I recap the news and experiences we had at D23 and Long Beach Comic Con!

There's no guest on this episode as I wanted to take the time to share some of the big news from D23 and talk about our experiences at Long Beach Comic Con. We recieved so much news at D23, primarily focused on a lot of the Disney+ programming. There was a lot of news from Star Wars, Marvel, The Muppets, and of course The Simpsons.

Hanging out with R2D2 at Long Beach Comic Con

Roads? Where we're going we don't need... roads.

It was great to return to Long Beach Comic Con this year. It seemed to be a little quieter this year with the lack of some past vendors and guests, but I attributed that to the stiff competition in the convention circuit this past weekend. Nonetheless, we still have a great time. One of the stand out vendors that we've looked at before was Unwrapped Art. We've had some of their work on the instagram and you'll hear all about them in this episode.

Thank you for having me, Long Beach Comic Con!

There's a lot of great things happening in entertainment right now. So many great new shows in the works, great comics, new films, and great art! Thank you for having us back Long Beach! And don't forget to get signed up for Disney+ as it launches November 12th.

Enjoy the episode!
