On today's episode of the podcast, we are coming to you LIVE from Pasadena Comic Con!

Austin Grant and I went to the Pasadena Convention Center to check out this one day convention and we had such a great time! On this episode we also had a chance to talk with Jim Hillin about his new comic book, "Zombie Bunnies", as well as Margaret Kerry who was the original model/actress for Tinkerbell.

Both Jim and Margaret had great stories to tell, and incredible back grounds as well! Aside from Tinkerbell, Margaret was in over 100 of the 3 Stooges episodes, as well as episodes of The Andy Griffith Show. We later found out Jim has worked on films such as Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, I Am Legend, Suicide Squad, and the upcoming Mary Poppins film, just to name a few.

After leaving to convention, Austin and I took a short walk through Pasadena to check out Pasadena City Hall, which was used as Pawnee City Hall in Parks and Rec. We also stopped at a small antiques mall where we found Party Deer and had a dainty tea party.

[NSFW WARNING: EXPLICIT CONTENT]

On today's episode I have Emmy nominated writer and comedian, Zack Bornstein!

Zack is best known for his work on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Saturday Night Live. I first met Zack at a Meltdown show several years ago and was thrilled to finally have him join me on the show. Zack had an interesting path into comedy and it was great to learn his story.

Tim's 24th Annual SAG Awards Picks

Awards Season rolls on tonight at the Shrine Auditorium as the 24th Annual SAG Awards kick off!

The Golden Globes gave us a good look at how the awards season may be shapping up. With only a few surprises, the SAG Awards should give us another good look at how the Oscars should shape up. Looking at so many of these great actors now lumped into one category really shows how tight the awards race is about to get.

Tonights SAG Awards are hosted by one of our personal favorites, Kristen Bell. I'm really looking forward to see what Kristen as instore for us. With that being said, let's get to my picks of who I think will take home the Actor tonight.

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role:
Timothee Chalamet, “Call Me by Your Name”

While James Franco took home the Golden Globe, he wasn't competing against Chalamet at the time. I would be suprised if we saw Franco take this again.

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role:
Saoirse Ronan, “Lady Bird”
With all of these actors in one category this makes it really tough. I could see this still going to Frances McDormand, and I could really see it going to Margot Robbie, but Saoirse Ronan has been going strong and I expect that to continue.

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role:

Willem Dafoe, “The Florida Project”
The only other person I expect to take this is Sam Rockwell, but Dafoe was incredible in the Florida Project. I think this will change the pace tonight.

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role:
Allison Janney, “I, Tonya”
The stage will be set tonight for Allison Janney to become the Oscar favorite.

Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture:
“The Big Sick”
I expect 'Lady Bird' to take this home, but I have to pick for 'The Big Sick" for this. They deserve this and they were incredible, but I think the politics of award season will hand this to 'Lady Bird'

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries:
Alexander Skarsgard, “Big Little Lies”

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries:
Nicole Kidman, “Big Little Lies”

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series:
Sterling K. Brown, “This Is Us”

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series:
Elisabeth Moss, “The Handmaid’s Tale”

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series:
Aziz Ansari, “Master of None”

Oh how I would love to see Marc Maron take this, but I think Aziz will carry on strong.

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series:
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, "Veep"

Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series:

“The Handmaid’s Tale”

Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series:
"Veep"

Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Comedy or Drama Series:

“GLOW”

Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture:

“Baby Driver”

The awards take place TONIGHT on TBS starting at 5PM PST.

Tune in!

New HBO comedy 'BARRY' starring Bill Hader premiers March 25th

HBO announced today that their new comedy, 'BARRY', starring SNL alumn Bill Hader will premier March 25, 2018.

Accoring to HBO, 'BARRY' is a dark comedy starring Bill Hader as a depressed, low-rent hitman from the Midwest. Lonely and dissatisfied in his life, he reluctantly travels to Los Angeles to execute a hit on an aspiring actor. Barry follows his “mark” into an acting class and ends up finding an accepting community in a group of eager hopefuls within the LA theater scene. He wants to start a new life as an actor, but his criminal past won’t let him walk away – can he find a way to balance both worlds?

The eight-episode series also stars Stephen Root, Sarah Goldberg, Glenn Fleshler, Anthony Carrigan and Henry Winkler. The series was created, executive produced and written by Alec Berg and Bill Hader.

Check out the trailer below!

We can't wait for 'BARRY' on March 25th. Will you be watching?

Tim's 75th Annual Golden Globe Picks

Awards Season is officially here! The Golden Globes starting in a few hours just down the road from us at the Beverly Hilton. One of our favorite late night hosts, Seth Meyers, is taking the reigns as host tonight, and we can't wait to see what he has planned!

While this year's awards have some incredible nominees, I still can't get over the snubs for "The Big Sick" and Jordan Peele for "Get Out". Hopefully the Oscar nominations will right these wrongs in a few weeks here. As tradition holds, it's time for me to make my annual picks for the Golden Globe winners. I always feel like the Golden Globes are the hardest to pick. The Hollywood Foreign Press always seems to have far different taste than most of us making picks. While "The Shape Of Water" has 7 nominations, I really don't see it winning anything. I really do not understand the hype of the film. Without further aideu, here are my picks for this year's awards.

Best Motion Picture, Drama
Call Me by Your Name

The only film I really see possinbly taking a win in this category other than "Call Me By Your Name" is "Three Billboards", but I think "Call Me By Your Name" will speak on a higher level to the HFPA.

Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy
Lady Bird

How great would it be to see "The Disaster Artist" somehow take a win here? "Lady Bird" is easily the best film, but the history of "The Disaster Artist" would just make it awesome.

Best Animated Feature Film
Coco
How the hell did "Boss Baby" really get a nomination? To put "Boss Baby" at the same caliber of film as "Coco" is just laughable.

Best Foreign Language Film
First They Killed My Father (Cambodia)

Best Director – Motion Picture
Christopher Nolan, Dunkirk
"Dunkirk" was a directing masterpiece. I know a lot of people think that Guillermo will take this for "The Shape Of Water", but I don't think there was anything special about the Directing of the film. It was simplistic and nothing compared to the overall scope of Guillermo's work.

Best Screenplay – Motion Picture
Greta Gerwig, Lady Bird
The only other possibly I forsee is Martin McDonagh for "Three Billboards", but this should have been a nomination for "The Big Sick".

Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama
Timothée Chalamet, Call Me by Your Name

This break out role for Timothee Chalamet will be a defning one in his career. While the others gave great performances, Timothee also had a great performance in "Lady Bird" that is going to sway voters as well.

Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama
Frances McDormand, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri

Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy
James Franco, The Disaster Artist

Let's hope James accepts the award in character as Tommy.

Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy
Saoirse Ronan, Lady Bird

Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture
Christopher Plummer, All the Money in the World

I know a lot of people may be suprised by this pick, but don't forget that Plumber did this entire film in 9 days and still managed to get a Golden Globe nomination! Don't count out Sam Rockwell for "Three Billboards" or Willem Dafoe for "The Florida Project", but I think Plumber will suprise everybody.

Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture
Allison Janney, I, Tonya
Laurie Metcalf could easily come in and win this as well for her role in "Lady Bird", but I think we see Allison Janney take this one home.

Best Original Song – Motion Picture
"This Is Me," The Greatest Showman

Best Original Score – Motion Picture
Hans Zimmer, Dunkirk

Best TV Series, Drama
The Handmaid's Tale

After their win at The Emmy's, I don't see how they don't take this one home.

Best TV Series, Comedy
Master of None (Netflix)

Best TV Movie or Limited-Series
Big Little Lies (HBO)

Best Actor in a TV Series, Drama
Sterling K. Brown, This Is Us

Best Actress in a TV Series, Drama
Claire Foy, The Crown

Best Actor in a TV Series, Comedy
Aziz Ansari, Master of None

Best Actress in a TV Series, Comedy
Alison Brie, GLOW
I really wouldn't be suprised to see Frankie Shaw take this home for "Smilf"

Best Actor in a Limited-Series or TV Movie
Jude Law, The Young Pope

Best Actress in a Limited-Series or TV Movie
Nicole Kidman, Big Little Lies

Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Limited-Series or TV Movie
Alexander Skarsgård, Big Little lies

Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Limited-Series, or TV Movie
Laura Dern, Big Little Lies
